International Language Schools Competition The Istanbul School of Language is proud to organize and host the CECLF International Language Schools Competition, which will take place during the education week of May 2-8, 2004. 1. Unite students from different backgrounds with one theme. 2. Celebrate Education Week with the students. 3. To attract student to the arts, increase their creativity, give them an opportunity to express themselves, and also have fun. 4. Increase visibility 5. Increase interactions between schools 6. Increase cross cultural communication 7. To commemorate Education week in a meaningful way 8. Group Building
International Language Schools Competition Areas - Poster competition in any Language (ages 11-12-13) - Arts and Crafts (ages 8 - 9 - 10)
Competition Structure - A team of maximum 3 students for each category. i.e. o For the poster competition § Identify 3 students in the age group 11 – 13 from the school. § Elect one of the students as group leader § Identify responsible instructor for group o For Arts & Craft competition § Identify 3 students in the age group 8 – 10 from the school. § Elect one of the students as group leader § Identify responsible instructor for group o Note: The same instructor could be responsible for both groups o Note2: If you wish to compete in both categories fill out 2 registration forms
Poster Competition in Any Language: - Paper size: double letter size - Material: crayons
Arts and Crafts: - On a card board use of waste material - Waste material: left over pieces of scrap paper, cardboard, basically any stationary material you would normally throw away, etc…
Theme - The Theme for both categories will be the same. - The theme will be presented on competition day - Theme will be related to Education Week
Competition Guidelines - Competition and awards ceremony Saturday, May 8, 2004 - Students to prepare content to compete - All content to be prepared on competition day - A school can choose to compete in either category or both. - Material necessary for both categories will be provided to students on competition day. - Competition to be 1.5 hour in duration during school hours, judging and awards ceremony right after. - All work produced by students to be displayed at a location open to the public. Example location: shopping mall. This would increase our visibility. - Teachers and students do not have to put aside extra time for the competition, other than competition day. - Substitute instructor for each participating program will be financed by the board.
Advertising - Theme will be announced on website. - Press release to be prepared and media to be invited to awards ceremony - Competition to be announced in School board newspaper.
